Flume Gorge and the Full Loop

Flume Gorge Short Trail closed; seasonal closure Oct 26

The Flume Gorge Short Trail/Rim Path is closed; before the seasonal closure, visitors must use the full 2-mile loop.

  • The loop starts at the check-in booths in front of the Flume Building and finishes there; it takes about 1.5 hours and includes uphill walking and many stairs.
  • The Flume Gorge Trail closes for the season October 26; for visitors’ and staff safety, do not enter trails within the Flume property after closure. The Gorge is closed to hikers off-season because its boardwalks are removed.

Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway closed and retired

The Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway (Tram II) is closed and retired; do not plan on a tram ride.

  • Tram II ended its 45-year run; a third-generation tram is in the works, with project progress to be shared as it becomes available.
