Inside North Fork Road closure toward Logging Creek begins October 4
The Inside North Fork Road will fully close to all traffic traveling toward Logging Creek from the Polebridge Ranger Station beginning October 4, 2026, because of water-main and water-tank installation. - The project is replacing the Polebridge Ranger Station area’s water supply system, water distribution system, and water tank; trenching in front of the Polebridge Ranger Station is also expected in October. - Public access to Bowman Lake and Kintla Lake will remain unaffected. Significant construction activities are expected to be completed in November 2026; remaining road or area restoration is expected by summer 2027, and heavy construction is not expected in winter. Two Medicine campground, road, and trailhead access changes
Two Medicine Road is closed at the Running Eagle Falls Trailhead beginning September 8, 2026, and the Two Medicine Campground is closed throughout 2026 because of utility replacement and road rehabilitation. - The utility project is replacing the full water distribution system in the Two Medicine developed area and campground. In mid- to late September 2026, the road closure will move to the intersection of Highway 49 and Two Medicine Road for road rehabilitation involving ditch re-establishment, road repair, parking-lot construction, entrance-station building replacement, and paving; the work is scheduled for completion in late 2027 but may continue into 2028. - The Two Medicine North Shore Trailhead is not accessible because of campground construction. The signed reroute to the North Shore Trail requires a ford (unbridged water crossing). To reach Twin Falls, Upper Two Medicine Lake, No Name Lake, or Dawson Pass without a ford, use the South Shore Trail; this adds approximately 1 mile one-way. Some trail access may be limited. - Closures in the developed area occur outside the concession operating dates of May 29–September 7; concessioner-operated boat tours and the Two Medicine Campstore were scheduled to operate through September 7, 2026.
