Reynolds River Track: deep water crossings

The Reynolds River Track is open to 4WDs only, with rough track conditions and water crossings about 500–600 mm deep; drive with care.

  • These conditions affect access to Blyth Homestead, Tjaynera Falls (Sandy Creek Falls), Sandy Creek Campground, Surprise Creek Falls and Surprise Creek Campground; all are open.
  • Surprise Creek Falls’ pool is currently stagnant, and swimming is not recommended.
  • Tableland Creek (Sybel Springs) is open; a high-clearance 4WD is recommended and you should drive with care.

Check current Litchfield access conditions before travelling.

ClosureUpdated

Tabletop Track closed

The Tabletop Track is closed because an Excess Heat Warning is in effect and there is no accessible drinking water.

  • Permit access only; do not plan an unpermitted walk on the track.
  • The track is a challenging, remote multi-day walk with minimal facilities, and extreme heat and limited water are potential dangers.

Check current Litchfield access conditions before travelling.

CautionUpdated

Upper Cascades swimming area: caution required

The Upper Cascades swimming area is open, but caution is required; take care if visiting.

Check current Litchfield access conditions before travelling.
