Raptor Closures Still In Effect in Lumpy Ridge

Nesting-raptor closures remain in effect in the Lumpy Ridge area and are scheduled through July 31 if appropriate. The closed areas currently include The Needle, The Parish, and Thunder Buttress, along with their base areas, surrounding trails, access/approach routes, descent routes, and all sides of the formations. Some former closures have been lifted, including The Book, Left Book, Bookmark, Bookmark Pinnacle, Batman Rock, Lightning Rock, Checkerboard Rock, Rock One, and Twin Owls. Timed Entry Reservations Required for RMNP Access

Timed entry reservations are required daily from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for access to all areas of Rocky Mountain National Park outside the Bear Lake Road Corridor. A separate Timed Entry + Bear Lake Road reservation is required daily from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the Bear Lake Road Corridor. Seasonal Wildlife Closure in Horseshoe Park and West Alluvial Fan

A seasonal wildlife closure remains in effect in Horseshoe Park and the West Alluvial Fan through August 31. Visitors may not travel off roads or trails, and no stopping or parking is allowed in the Bighorn Crossing Zone. Stage 2 Fire Restrictions in Effect Park-Wide

Stage 2 fire restrictions remain in effect throughout Rocky Mountain National Park until further notice. All campfires are prohibited, including charcoal briquettes. Petroleum-fueled stoves and grills are allowed only in developed campgrounds, picnic areas, and designated wilderness campsites; liquid gas (white gas) stoves are not permitted. Smoking is prohibited except in an enclosed vehicle or on a stopped paved area with no vegetation within 3 feet.
