Old Fall River Road is closed to motor vehicles for the season.

• From October 17, the road is open to pedestrians, bicycles, and leashed pets for winter; bicycles and leashed pets are allowed on the road only, not on side trails.

Check current Old Fall River Road information before traveling.

The area and trail west of Sun Valley Trail remain closed, including the route used for angler access to the Colorado River, because of impacts from the 2020 East Troublesome and Cameron Peak Fires; Sun Valley Trail itself has reopened.

• The fires affected approximately 30,000 acres (10% of the park). Burned areas can have weak, unstable ground around stump holes; unstable dead trees, especially in wind; loose rocks, logs, and rolling debris; flash flooding and significant debris flows; and little canopy for shade.
• Park staff continue assessing fire impacts, safety, downed trees, erosion, and rockfall. Stay out of the closed area and trail west of Sun Valley Trail.
