Night Closures for Deer Control in Royal National Park
Some areas of Royal National Park are closed to the public between sunset and sunrise, Monday to Thursday (excluding school holidays), from Monday 6 July 2026 to Friday 18 December 2026 for deer control operations. Affected areas include Audley, Wattamolla and Garie picnic areas, Lady Carrington Drive, Bonnie Vale, Hacking River Vehicle Trail, Camps Gully Vehicle Trail, Karingal Picnic Area, Powerline East Vehicle Trail, North Era campground, and coastal areas between Garie Beach and Figure 8 Pools. Wattamolla Beach Access via Stairs and Water Crossing
The Wattamolla pontoon has been removed for maintenance. Beach access is now via the stairs at the eastern end of the precinct, and visitors must cross through water. Conditions change with the tide, so plan ahead and take care. This alert is active until 30 September 2026.
