Essential vegetation maintenance works are closing or restricting parts of Royal National Park through 2 October 2026. - Warumbul and Rathane Roads: night works from 24 August to 11 September to minimise daytime traffic and access impacts. - Gundamian Vehicle Trail: closed on weekdays from 24 August to 18 September for maintenance. - Winifred Falls Vehicle Trail: closed on weekdays from 2 September to 2 October for maintenance. - Visitors staying at Weemalah or Hill Top cottages can access these locations with proof of booking; Warumbul picnic area remains open during daylight hours. - Penalties apply for non-compliance. Unauthorised trail between East Heathcote and Waterfall closed
The unauthorised trail between East Heathcote and Waterfall is formally and physically closed; access is not permitted. - Closure works, including signage and brush matting of the trail surface, were completed to encourage natural bush regeneration and clearly signal that the trail is no longer open to access. - The trail is directly adjacent to the eastern side of the rail corridor. Overnight closures for deer-control operations
Specified areas are closed between sunset and sunrise from Monday to Thursday, excluding school holidays, because deer-control operations are being carried out; the program runs through 18 December 2026. - Affected areas include Audley Precinct trails and all Picnic Flats; asset-protection zones near Maianbar, Bundeena and East Heathcote; Wattamolla and Garie picnic areas; North Era campground and coastal areas between Garie Beach and Figure 8 Pools; Garawarra Farm; Lady Carrington Drive; Bonnie Vale campground and picnic area; Hacking River Vehicle Trail; Camp Gully Vehicle Trail; Karingal Picnic Area; and Powerline East Vehicle Trail. - Closures are signposted at entry points and penalties apply.
