Fosshvammur at Dettifoss closed after rockslide and ground cracks

Do not enter Fosshvammur at Dettifoss: the area is closed to visitors. - Heavy rain in early summer 2025 caused a rockslide at Dettifoss, and cracks appeared in several places along the canyon rim. - Specialist investigations found an extensive network of cracks beneath the soil; the cracks can affect walking paths, viewing platforms, and cliffs.
