Belly River Campground is closed to all traffic and travel because a carcass is in the area.

The Blakiston Fan area is closed to traffic and travel to prevent disturbance of elk rutting there.

• The closure covers the area east of the road past Alpine Stables, south of Hay Barn and Entrance roads (Highway 5), north of Middle Waterton Lake and west of the Waterton River, except land within 25 metres of the high-water mark.
• Hiking and horseback riding are prohibited unless accompanied by a licensed outfitter guide. Alpine Stables is the only horse use allowed, and only on existing trails. Hay Barn and Marquis Hole Road remain open; stay in your vehicle.

Do not camp overnight at Bertha Lake Campground: a bear has obtained human food and has approached people and tents.

• On the Lakeshore and Bertha Lake trails and at Bertha Bay and Boundary Bay campgrounds, a bear has approached people and shown interest in human food. Do not approach bears; carry bear spray and know how to use it; hang unattended food and attractants properly; hike out all garbage (do not dispose of garbage or liquids in fire pits); leash your dog or leave it at home; and make noise near running water or where sightlines are limited.
• Report bear sightings and area violations to 1-888-927-3367. Violators of the overnight camping restriction may be charged under the Canada National Parks Act, with a maximum penalty of $25,000.
