Bertha-Townsite motor-vehicle closure and avalanche terrain

Unauthorized motor vehicles are prohibited in parts of the Bertha-Townsite area, which remains open but is avalanche terrain. - The restriction covers Evergreen Avenue south of Cameron Falls, Columbine Avenue, the lane at the base of Bertha Peak, the trailhead and first portion of the Bertha Falls/Lakeshore Trail, and the west section of Townsite Campground. - Current conditions are Low risk; be aware: smaller avalanches are still possible, although they are not likely to affect the townsite. - Avalanche frequency and size have increased on Bertha Peak’s eastern slopes because tree cover changed following the 2017 Kenow wildfire; avalanches could affect structures adjacent to Evergreen Avenue past Cameron Falls. - Daily avalanche forecasting has ended for the season. You are responsible for your own safety; enter at your own risk. Check the current Bertha-Townsite avalanche bulletin before entering the area.Official details
