Glacier Point Road is temporarily closed because Dome Fire smoke reduces visibility and to allow firefighting operations; some trails south of the road are also closed.

• The Dome Fire is burning in wilderness northeast of Wawona. Fire-area hazards include falling limbs and snags, fire-damaged trees, burning logs and stump holes, smoke that may cause respiratory problems, poor visibility, hot ash, and unseen hazards.
• Roads, trail segments, and areas marked on the Dome Fire closure map are closed to public travel; administrative and firefighting personnel are excepted.
• Smoky conditions may bring brief periods of unhealthy air quality.

The trail over El Capitan Bridge, linking Valley Loop Trail sections north and south of the Merced River, is closed on weekdays through December for bridge work.
