Eagle Creek Fire area closure

Do not enter the closed Oneonta Gorge area or the specified trail sections because hazards remain following the Eagle Creek Fire.

  • Closed areas are Ruckel Creek Trail #405, Tanner Butte Trail #401 north of the junction with Tanner Cutoff Trail #448, and Oneonta Gorge between the Historic Columbia River Highway (Hwy 30) and the Horsetail Falls Trail bridge spanning Oneonta Creek.
  • The order is effective July 17, 2026, through July 17, 2027, unless rescinded sooner; authorized permit holders, officials and organized rescue or firefighting forces on official duty, and specified agencies engaged in business in the area are exempt.
