Marandoo View is a short out-and-back from the Mount Bruce car park to a lookout over the Marandoo iron-ore mine. It’s 500 m return and takes about 30 minutes. I’d add it if you want one easy walk that shows a side of Karijini its gorge trails don’t; skip it if an industrial view isn’t your thing.

What the path reachesFollow the path east from the Mount Bruce parking area through open spinifex country.

Follow the path east from the Mount Bruce parking area through open spinifex country. Most of it is unpaved, with one short metal-grid bridge, before it reaches the viewpoint; you return the same way. Marandoo’s red mine cut and processing buildings sit across the dry scrub, with the Hamersley Range behind them. The range contains about 80% of Australia’s identified iron-ore reserves, so the view puts the geology and modern industry together. For a photo, keep some spinifex in the foreground to show the distance between the park and the mine.
