Marandoo View is a short walking viewpoint from the Mount Bruce car park, looking over the Marandoo iron-ore mine against the Hamersley Range. It gives you a very different look at Karijini: red mine benches and processing works across the scrub, with the range behind. Stop if you’re curious about how iron ore shapes the Pilbara; if you’re choosing between this and the park’s gorges and pools, treat it as an optional detour.
Make the 500 m return walkThe easy Class 2 path starts at the Mount Bruce car park.
The easy Class 2 path starts at the Mount Bruce car park. DBCA gives it as 500 m return and about 30 minutes. There’s a toilet and information bay by the car park. Getting there includes a 3 km unsealed road from Karijini Drive, near the Banjima Drive West entry station. In hotter months, aim for the cooler parts of the day; DBCA also recommends drinking water and sun protection.

The Hamersley Range holds about 80 per cent of Australia’s identified iron-ore reserves, which gives this wide industrial view a sense of scale. DBCA describes Karijini as the Banyjima name for the Hamersley Range and names Banyjima, Kurrama and Innawonga peoples as Traditional Owners.
