Scheduled US 101 Hoh River Bridge closures

The US 101 Hoh River Bridge will close to all traffic during scheduled overnight and multi-day closures from September 14 through October 13, 2026. - Overnight closures run 10:30 p.m.–5:30 a.m. each night from September 14 through September 22. - Multi-day closures run 5 a.m. September 24–5 p.m. September 29; 5 a.m. October 1–noon October 6; and 5 a.m. October 8–noon October 13. - There is no alternative route across the Hoh River; routes around the east side of the Olympic Peninsula add at least four hours. - The closure is south of Forks and the Hoh Rain Forest; during closures, Highway 101 cannot connect points north and south of the bridge. - WSDOT is closing the bridge for this scheduled work. Dosewallips Road is closed to vehicles because of a washout outside the park boundary, 6.5 miles from the campground. - The road remains open to pedestrian and bicycle traffic only. Check current road conditions before planning vehicle access to the Dosewallips area.Official details

Olympic Hot Springs and Whiskey Bend roads closed to vehicles

Olympic Hot Springs Road is closed to vehicles at Madison Falls, and Whiskey Bend Road is closed to vehicles because of the Olympic Hot Springs Road washout. - Both roads remain open to pedestrians, bicycles, and dogs on leashes; Olympic Hot Springs Road is also open to stock. - Madison Falls parking is open but limited; a toilet is open at the trailhead, but no further facilities are available beyond the gate. No potable water at Hurricane Ridge during construction

No potable water is available on Hurricane Ridge; bring what you need. - A major rehabilitation project is replacing the aging water system and upgrading utilities in the developed area. - Construction in the main parking lot may reroute some meadow trails for trenching; Victoria Overlook remains accessible. Portable restrooms and a temporary water system will be installed and used as needed, and asphalt patching and road striping may require temporary rolling closures. Mora Road closed beyond Mora Campground

Mora Road is closed to pedestrians, bicycles, and vehicles beyond Mora Campground from July 8 through October 15, 2026; Rialto Beach is inaccessible via this route. - Construction is repairing riverbank erosion caused by severe winter flooding along the Quillayute River at milepost 1.25 and fortifying the road against continued river migration and flooding events. - Mora Campground remains open. Consider an alternative beach such as Ruby Beach during construction. Check current road conditions before traveling.Official details

South Shore Quinault Road partially closed at washout

South Shore Quinault Road is partially closed because a washout in Jefferson County has crossed the road and made it impassable. - The washout is approximately 8 miles from U.S. Highway 101. - Expect potholes and rough conditions on the unpaved portion. Staircase wilderness trails and campsites closed after Bear Gulch Fire

Wilderness trails beyond the developed Staircase area and associated wilderness campsites remain closed after the human-caused Bear Gulch Fire. - The fire left burn scars that increase risks of landslides, rockfall, and treefall; crews are completing hazard assessments and repairing damaged bridges and privies, including trail stabilization, erosion control, culvert repairs, and vegetation management. - Closed trails are Shady Lane; North Fork Skokomish from Staircase Rapids Loop to Home Sweet Home; Four Stream; Flapjack Lakes; Black and White Lakes; and Six Ridge Primitive from the east edge of Belview Camp to its junction with North Fork Skokomish. - Closed campsites include Beaver Flats, Slide, Spike, Big Log, Camp Pleasant, Nine Stream, Two Bear, First Divide, Smith Lake, Donohue Creek, Black and White Lakes, Flapjack Lakes, Madeline Creek, Wagonwheel Lake, and cross-country campsites requiring access from those trails. - Stay on open trails and respect closures. The Staircase developed area, FS-24 access road, campground, ranger station, Rapids Loop Trail, and other developed facilities are open, but closed areas may contain unstable ground, damaged bridges, hidden hazards, falling trees, rolling rocks, and stump holes.
