West Coast Trail winter access restriction
From October 7 through April 30, only day use between Pachena Bay trailhead and km 8 is permitted; overnight use and the remainder of the West Coast Trail are closed.
- Day users need a valid National Park Reserve permit and must enter and exit via Pachena Bay trailhead on the same day. The restriction preserves the natural environment’s and infrastructure’s carrying capacity and helps ensure visitor safety.
