Official details →A wolf warning is active on Long Beach Unit trails; change your plans and behaviour to reduce the risk of a negative human-wolf encounter. - The current trail listing warns of wolves on ʔapsčiik t̓ašii, Combers Beach, Halfmoon Bay, Nuu-chah-nulth, Radar Hill, South Beach, Rainforest A, Rainforest B, Schooner Cove, Shorepine Bog, and Willowbrae trails. - Wolves have increased their attempts and boldness to prey on dogs, including large, leashed dogs, and increasing habituation has led to very close encounters with visitors with and without dogs. - Leave pets at home, keep children close, carry accessible bear spray, do not hike alone, avoid areas with low human activity, stay alert, and watch for tracks and droppings.
