Burned-area and rain hazards in the Rincon Mountains
Use extra caution and stay on trails in high-elevation areas of the Rincon Mountains burned by the two 2020 fires. - Fire-related stump holes can create weak, unstable ground and may be difficult to identify; fallen pine needles or ash can make trails slick, and some fire-weakened trees may still fall. - During rain events, watch for flash flooding, rolling debris, and erosion. - Streams can flow across Happy Valley Road, which provides access to the Miller Creek and Turkey Creek trailheads; high-clearance or four-wheel-drive vehicles are highly encouraged in this area at all times of year. - Contact the Rincon Mountain Visitor Center at 520-733-5153 for more information on current road conditions. Check Saguaro’s current conditions before visiting.Official detailsCaution
