Parkwide Campfire Ban and Fire Restrictions
Voyageurs National Park has a parkwide campfire ban in effect due to high fire danger and active wildfires in northeast Minnesota. Campfires, charcoal grills/barbecues, and any wood- or charcoal-fueled fire are not allowed, including in designated fire rings. Gas- and propane-fueled camp stoves and grills are allowed. The restriction remains in effect until rescinded. Official conditions: https://www.nps.gov/voya/planyourvisit/conditions.htmOfficial detailsCaution
Namakan Lake Boating Safety Notice
The park says the Namakan Lake boating safety notice remains in effect for July–October 2026 because crew boats, tugboats, barges, and other construction equipment are working on the Kettle Falls powerline project between Moose River and Kettle Falls. Boaters should stay at least 100 yards away from construction vessels and equipment when practicable, travel no-wake/minimum safe speed within 500 yards of active work zones, watch for skiffs, anchor lines, floating cables, and buoys, and never pass between barges, tugboats, or anchored equipment. Follow directions from marine crews, safety vessels, and posted signage.Official details
