Biscuit Basin’s parking lot, boardwalk, and Firehole River are closed to all travel.

• The basin is north of Old Faithful; the closure is due to the possibility of another hydrothermal event at the site of the July 23, 2024, hydrothermal explosion and remains in effect until further notice.

Most Yellowstone roads and the West, South, and East entrances are scheduled to close to regular vehicles November 1, 2026, as the park prepares for winter operations.

• October 31 is the final day visitors can drive most park roads; Dunraven Pass is scheduled to remain open through that day, weather permitting.
• During winter, visitors driving into the park can use the North Entrance–Northeast Entrance route through Mammoth Hot Springs, Tower Junction, and Lamar Valley, weather permitting.
• Inclement weather and dangerous driving conditions may cause additional temporary closures; check road status before traveling.

Beartooth Highway (US-212) is closed for the season between Cooke City and Red Lodge, Montana.

• The highway typically opens from the Friday of Memorial Day weekend to mid-October.
