All waterbodies in Kootenay National Park are closed to watercraft and angling until March 31, 2027; do not plan boating or fishing in the park. - The closure reduces the spread of aquatic invasive species (AIS), including whirling disease. Four-person minimum on Sinclair Creek and Kindersley Pass trails

Hiking parties on the Sinclair Creek and Kindersley Pass trails must have at least four people because grizzly bears frequent the area. - Keep no more than 3 metres between individuals, or less when sight or hearing is reduced by the surroundings. - Each hiking party should carry bear spray, stay on designated trails and viewpoints, and keep dogs on leash.
