If you want time on the water with classic views of Lassen Peak, Manzanita Lake’s seasonal rentals are the simplest way to do it. Walk up, pay at the Manzanita Lake Camper Store, then follow the short path to the boat launch to grab your craft. It’s all non-motorized here—peaceful paddling only—and life vests are required and provided with rentals.

Expect a solid lineup: single and double kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddleboards, and a small cataraft. Typical rental window runs 10:00 am–4:00 pm and is weather-dependent. The Camper Store is your hub: groceries, gifts, hot showers, laundry, a small cafe with espresso and soft-serve, and even a gas pump. Flush restrooms operate in peak season around the campground area; outside peak times you’ll see vault toilets. Free Wi‑Fi is available at Loomis Plaza nearby, but don’t count on cell service.

Mornings are your friend—calmer water, easier parking, and better odds of snagging the craft you want before afternoon breezes pick up.
