Manzanita Lake Campground is Lassen Volcanic National Park's largest campground, set among Jeffrey and ponderosa pines at 5,900 feet, about a mile south of the north entrance. Manzanita Lake, Loomis Museum, the ranger station and nearby trails are within walking distance. Choose it for easy lake time and north-side walks, with a busy campground feel rather than a secluded campsite.
There are 179 sites across several loops, and Loop D is tent-only. Each site has a picnic table and bear-resistant locker, but there are no electric, water or sewer hookups. Some campers find the sites close together, and quiet depends on your neighbors.
