Even if you pop in just to browse, keep an eye outside the Visitor Center—prairie dogs are almost a guarantee, and bison or pronghorn sometimes roam the nearby prairie. Give wildlife space and enjoy the show.

Late morning through early afternoon is typically the busiest window. For elbow room, browse right at opening or after 4 pm. Weekdays are a touch calmer than weekends, and shoulder seasons feel more relaxed overall.
