LeHardys Rapids Overlook is a quick, rewarding riverside stop just north of Fishing Bridge. Geologically, many consider this spot the northern boundary of Yellowstone Lake because fluctuations at the rapids influence the lake’s outflow.

In late spring and early summer, native Yellowstone cutthroat trout fight upstream here—yes, you can watch them launch themselves through the rapids.
July often brings a salmonfly hatch; look for trout rising near the banks to sip the big orange bugs.
