A quick pullout on Windows Road delivers a surprisingly immersive landscape: sculpted fins, towers, and nascent “baby arches” clustered together like a sandstone playground. Despite the “viewpoint” sign, this is really an open slickrock area you can roam at will.

• Close‑up spires, knobs, and forming windows sprinkled across durable slickrock.
• Named features in the area include Owl Rock, Serpentine Arch, the Devil’s Golf Ball, and a narrow gap informally called the space between Adam and Eve.

It’s an underrated, easy win between Balanced Rock and the Windows/Double Arch complex. Most people snap a photo from the car and move on—walk a few hundred feet uphill onto the slickrock and you’ll have dramatic scenery with thinner crowds.

How to Explore

There’s no official trail—pick your way over rock and sand for as little or as long as you like. Stay on slickrock where possible and avoid the dark, crusty cryptobiotic soil. Expect casual scrambling in spots and bring a camera; the shapes and layers here are made for compositions.
