“You're approaching Rampart Creek Campground, a simple overnight base beside the North Saskatchewan River. Reserve a site and choose it for the wooded riverside setting, rather than hotel comforts.”

“…Loved the commentary as you drove thru. I’m sure the app can do more than I know but the tips were very helpful. I’m gonna use it when we go to Banff next month.”

Rampart Creek is a small Parks Canada campground on the Icefields Parkway, 91 km north of the Highway 1/93N junction and across from Rampart Creek Hostel. Its 51 unserviced sites back onto the North Saskatchewan River, with woods and mountains around the valley. I'd choose it for a simple night close to the river, not for resort-style comforts.

There’s potable water, outhouse toilets, cooking and picnic shelters, fire pits, and food-storage lockers. The sites have no hookups, and there’s no cell service or Wi-Fi along this stretch of the Parkway, so save your booking details and offline map before you set out. Treat it as self-catering; no store or food service is listed at the campground.

Check your setup before bookingEvery site requires a reservation.

Every site requires a reservation. The campground suits tents and RVs or trailers up to 10 m (35 ft), though some loops aren’t suitable for units over 8 m (25 ft). There are no showers or dump station here. If you need a dump, plan for Waterfowl Lakes Campground rather than expecting one at Rampart Creek.
