Practical extras include a motorhome service point (grey water and chemical waste), multiple water points, secure bike storage and a repair station, and a dedicated BBQ/outdoor dining area. There’s an on-site Italian restaurant/bar (La Taverna) and even rapid EV charging in the main car park. Security cameras cover the service block, and there’s a children’s play park for little legs.
Nature & Wildlife
You’re right beside Craigellachie’s birch woods and heather slopes—prime territory for red squirrels, deer, and a rich mix of birdlife. Owls are a common nighttime soundtrack. For a classic loch-and-castle scene, Loch an Eilein is a short drive away and a good bet for waterfowl watching.
Why it works
It’s rare to find a campsite that blends a peaceful woodland feel with true walk-to-dinner convenience. Add in the clean, well-run facilities and easy access to the B970 “ski road,” and this becomes an excellent base for everything from low-key forest walks to high mountain days.
