This is the park’s official nonprofit store, run by Hawaiʻi Pacific Parks Association. It’s where you’ll find the best Hawaiʻi-specific guides, maps, and meaningful souvenirs—with every purchase helping fund interpretation, research, and cultural programming in the park.

Current Status (Renovation & Temporary Location)

Kīlauea Visitor Center closed for extensive renovations on Feb 17, 2025. During construction, the HPPA park store is serving visitors at the Welcome Center, with a temporary retail location about 1.2 miles west at Kīlauea Military Camp (Koa Room). At the KVC site, restrooms and the water station are unavailable and roughly half the parking is closed. When KVC reopens, expect expanded visitor space (including more room for the store), new restrooms, a covered hālau, and bilingual exhibits in English and ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi.

If you care about where your dollars go, this is the place to shop—proceeds directly support the park. The selection is also smarter than a typical gift shop: you’ll find the exact guidebooks and resources that actually improve your visit.

Best Time to Visit

The store keeps daytime hours. To sidestep peak-hour crowding, go earlier in the day. During the KVC renovation, head straight to the Welcome Center/Kīlauea Military Camp location and check for any day-of updates before you drive over.
