More about Natural Bridge and Castle Cove

Two views in one stopNatural Bridge and Castle Cove are a paired coastal lookout stop in Kalbarri National Park.

Natural Bridge and Castle Cove are a paired coastal lookout stop in Kalbarri National Park. A short sealed path leads to two cliff-top views: Natural Bridge's wave-cut arch and Castle Cove's broad sweep of ocean and red-banded cliffs. I'd stop for both; they're close together but show different sides of this stretch of coast.

Choose your viewThe Natural Bridge enclosure gives you the defining view of the arch above the surf.

The Natural Bridge enclosure gives you the defining view of the arch above the surf. From Castle Cove, look toward Island Rock against the Indian Ocean. If you're taking photos, the arch is the close subject at Natural Bridge, while Castle Cove gives you a wider coast-and-sea frame.

Keep walking if you want moreThis can be a quick stop, or the start of a longer coastal walk.

This can be a quick stop, or the start of a longer coastal walk. The sealed boardwalk continues north toward Island Rock, a separate sea stack, and the longer Bigurda Trail reaches Natural Bridge from Eagle Gorge. Do both lookouts first, then carry on only if you want more walking.

Red cliffs, shaped by the seaThe cliffs are Tumblagooda Sandstone, with the red bands Kalbarri is known for.
