Old Faithful Lodge Cabins are the park’s no-frills, best‑located crash pad—simple cabins set behind a 1920s lodge, right by the boardwalks and the geyser. You’re here for location and ease: watch crowds thin in the evening, stroll out for eruptions, and be on the Upper Geyser Basin trails in minutes.

What You’ll Find

Cabins range from very basic to basic-with-privacy. Frontier Cabins have a private bathroom with a shower; Cabins without Bath have an in‑room sink and use centrally located communal bathrooms and showers. All cabins are heated and come with a fan and alarm clock. Expect no air conditioning, TV, telephone, or radios. Select cabins are pet‑friendly (fee applies), and all are non‑smoking.

Dining & Services

The lodge building houses a cafeteria-style food court plus a bakery/snack counter and a gift shop. It’s convenient after a day on the boardwalks, but plan accordingly—breakfast is limited here, and some guests find prices high for what you get. Flush restrooms are available in the lodge.

How It’s Different

Compared to the grand Old Faithful Inn next door, the Lodge Cabins are more wallet-friendly and decidedly more rustic—think “camping with a roof and a heater.” You’re trading in-room frills for a prime base with quick access to the geyser basin and steady views from the lodge lobby.

Wildlife

Bison commonly wander the Old Faithful area, sometimes right near the cabins and river corridor. It’s memorable, but keep your distance and follow posted guidance—wildlife moves through here at all hours.

Need-to-Know

• Frontier Cabins = private bath; Cabins without Bath = communal shower houses with running water (including a roll‑in option).
• No cooking in cabins. Ice machines are available; laundry is available in the area for lodging/camping guests (check with the front desk).
• Internet and cell service in the Old Faithful area are limited at best—plan to unplug.

Best Time to Visit

Stay here if you want quiet boardwalk time before day-trippers arrive and after they leave. Early morning and late evening are the sweet spots for catching Old Faithful with fewer crowds and softer light. Midday is busiest, and dining lines are longest.
