Overview

This is Banff’s big, convenient basecamp on Tunnel Mountain—more practical than pretty. Expect mountain views, quick access to town, and a year-round season. It’s part of a cluster (Village I, Village II, and the Trailer Court), and Village II skews RV-friendly without that deep-in-the-woods vibe.

Campsites & Amenities

Sites are designed for rigs and parallel parking along the loop roads, so spacing and privacy are limited. You’ll get electric hookups, potable water, and a dump station on-site (no sewer hookups at the sites). Restrooms are modern with hot showers and dishwashing sinks, and each site has a picnic table. Firewood is available, but plan on a fire permit or added fire-related fees.

Getting Around

The star perk is the free shuttle to downtown Banff—leave your RV parked and skip the town traffic. If you do need to use the dump station, go early to dodge the morning queue.

Vibe: Who Will Like It

If you want an easy, serviced home base steps from Banff’s restaurants and tours, this is a win. If you crave secluded forest camping, the open, “industrialized” feel may not be your style.

Wildlife

Ground squirrels and deer are common around camp, and bighorn sheep wander the area. Elk and even bears are possible in the broader zone—follow all food storage rules.

Reservations & Demand

This place is popular and fills quickly, especially in summer. Don’t rely on first-come, first-served—reserve ahead. Same‑day online booking can cut off in the evening, so late arrivals without reservations often strike out.
