It’s named for Lady Cecelia Carrington from the late Victorian era, a nod to the region’s early recreation history. Expect a natural, minimally developed perch rather than a tourist precinct.

From the cliff edge, you’ll look across forested valleys, weathered sandstone escarpments, and the vast Jamison below—very much the archetypal Blue Mountains scene. It’s in the same panorama neighborhood as the Three Sisters and Echo Point, but you’ll often have a quieter moment here. Do note some seasons bring thicker foliage that can partially obscure parts of the outlook.

Access is via a short signed sidetrack from the foot-only Prince Henry Cliff Walk between Katoomba and Leura. There’s no road access, no parking, and no services at the lookout itself. Treat it as a trailside stop: use the facilities at major hubs like Echo Point or Leura Cascades before you set out, then enjoy this as a peaceful pause along the walk.
Why It’s Different
This is the calmer sibling to the headline lookouts—same big scenery, fewer people, and a more natural feel. Benches nearby make it a pleasant rest spot if you’re linking multiple viewpoints along the cliff walk.
Wildlife
Keep an ear out for birdlife along the track—cockatoos, rosellas, and lyrebirds are the usual suspects—and occasional wallabies in the surrounding bush. You’ll be walking through classic upper-mountains eucalypt and heath.
