Overview

Indigo Lake Overlook is a mellow, scenic stop with big sky-and-water reflections and a quietly beautiful vibe. The lake itself was reclaimed from a former sand and gravel mine, which gives it that deep, still, glassy look that photographers love. It’s close to Riverview Road and ties neatly into the Towpath and the Hale Farm Connector, so it’s an easy detour on a hike or bike day.

From the overlook and lakeshore you’ll get wide views across calm water framed by wooded hills. On still days, the mirror-like surface paints sunrise and sunset colors across the lake. Trains from the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad pass nearby, adding a fun bit of ambience without overwhelming the quiet.
