Echo Lake Boat Rental is the beachside hub for getting on the water fast. You’re launching onto a compact, clear, 39‑acre lake framed by Cannon Mountain and Mt. Lafayette—classic Notch scenery without big‑water hassles. It’s a mellow spot to paddle, drift, and gawk at the peaks from water level.

What You Can Rent

• Kayaks and canoes for simple, go‑anywhere exploring.
• Pedal boats if you want a stable, hands‑free cruise.

Rates have been posted in‑season as about $20/hour for canoes and kayaks, and $30/hour for pedal boats. Life vests and paddles are provided, and a valid driver’s license is required to rent.

How It Works

• Rentals are handled at the Lakeside General Store right on the beach; it also sells cold drinks, ice cream, snacks, and basic beach gear.
• Last boats go out one hour before the beach closes—plan your timing so you’re not sprinting back.
• When the beach is unstaffed, you’ll pay day‑use fees at the onsite Iron Ranger; restroom access can be more limited on those days.
• Day‑use entry for the beach is capacity‑controlled; make reservations ahead on busy weekends and holidays (every person in your group needs one, even infants).

Rules & Practicalities

• No pets at Echo Lake Beach.
• Drones aren’t permitted to take off or land in state parks.
• Restrooms are available in season (locked at night); the beach also serves nearby Cannon RV Park.
• Day‑use fees are typically $4 for ages 12+, $2 for ages 6–11, free for 5 and under; NH residents 65+ are free.
