Overview
Nyamundwa Dam Viewpoint is a simple roadside pull-off on the S1 (Phabeni–Skukuza road) that consistently delivers animal action. It’s roughly 10 km from Phabeni Gate, making it a natural first or last stop on southern Kruger drives.
For a basic pull-off, the viewing is surprisingly good—broad, open sightlines let you watch the dam without squeezing for position, and traffic tends to flow smoothly along the S1. In drier months, the dam becomes even more of a magnet for big herds.
