This is the classic welcome-sign pullout—a quick, in-and-out spot to snag the obligatory photo before you head into the main complex. Expect a simple roadside stop: a sign, a small area to stand, and enough space to shuffle groups through for pictures.
Use the memorial’s main facilities for everything else. Restrooms and drinking water are available inside at the Information Center and the Lincoln Borglum Visitor Center during posted hours.
This sign is a roadside pullout with limited parking. If you’re continuing into the developed area and trails, you’ll use the main parking structure inside the memorial, which charges a parking fee and provides easy access to the Grand View Terrace, Visitor Center, and the Presidential Trail.
The memorial is open daily from early morning to evening (5:00 AM–10:00 PM). For the sign specifically, daylight makes life easier for a quick, well-lit photo. If you want to avoid waiting, aim for earlier in the day or between peak visitation waves.
Nice for the scrapbook shot and a quick hello/goodbye moment. Don’t detour just for the sign—but if you’re passing it anyway, it’s a fast, fun stop on your way in or out.
