Set on open grasslands in the eastern Serengeti near the Seronera heartland, Lemala Nanyukie blends contemporary design with classic canvas. You’re here for front‑row wildlife and those vast, golden views—and the lodge delivers both in spades.

Suites & Facilities

There are 15 tented suites (including a two‑bedroom family option), all with canvas walls, tented ceilings and hardwood decks. Inside you’ll find oversized beds, a spacious lounge, double vanity bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers, plus a freestanding tub. Every suite opens to a private deck with sunken seating and a corner plunge pool facing the plains. The main area adds a lounge and bar, indoor/outdoor dining, a viewing deck and a swimming pool, along with a separate spa tent. Wi‑Fi is available, and laundry is included on full board.

Wildlife & Activities

This corner of the Serengeti is famous for predators—lion, cheetah and leopard—and productive year‑round game viewing. Traveller logs since late 2020 (small sample) reported 100% sightings of lion, buffalo, eland, elephant, giraffe, wildebeest and zebra; cheetah/hippo/spotted hyena around two‑thirds; leopard one‑third; striped hyena about half—treat these as indicative, not guarantees. Activities include guided game drives, walking safaris, and hot‑air balloon flights (additional cost). Sundowners, bush breakfasts and post‑dinner fireside time round out the days.

Best Time to Visit

If the Great Migration is your goal, this area typically sees herds April–June and again November–January. Outside those windows, resident big cats and plains game keep viewing strong. As a lodge stay, it works well year‑round.

Getting There & Logistics

Nanyukie sits roughly an hour by road east of Seronera Airstrip. Packages differ: full board covers accommodation, all meals, house drinks, Wi‑Fi and laundry; park/concession fees, premium beverages, airstrip transfers and game drives may be extra—confirm what your specific booking includes. Note that night drives are not offered in the Serengeti.

Dining & Atmosphere

Expect communal or private dining, with the option for lantern‑lit dinners under the stars and bush breakfasts on drive days. The vibe is relaxed but polished—exactly the kind of place where you watch elephants wander past from your plunge pool.
