Overview
The Lamai Wedge is the Serengeti’s far‑north, a remote slice wedged between the Mara River and the Kenyan border. Think soaring kopjes, craggy valleys, and endless plains that feel wonderfully empty. Base yourself here and you’re within striking distance of the famed Mara River crossing points and surrounded by classic predator territory.
From late July through October, this is one of the best places on Earth to watch wildebeest test the Mara River. Even outside the migration window, resident wildlife keeps things buzzing: zebra, topi, gazelle, impala, buffalo, giraffe—and the big cats—are reliably in the mix.
