Angler's Bluff is a small picnic area above Yellowstone Lake, with five tables and views toward West Thumb. It makes a good pause for lunch if you're driving this side of the lake; the payoff is a simple meal beside the water, not a larger attraction that needs a long visit.

From the road to the shoreA short paved spur leaves the main road, then a short dirt path crosses grass to the tables.

A short paved spur leaves the main road, then a short dirt path crosses grass to the tables. Some sit along the bluff edge, roughly 20 feet above the shore. A sloping way leads down to the rocky waterline, so the shoreline is below the tables rather than a level extension of them.

What to bringThere are two vault toilets.

There are two vault toilets. Pack your meal before you arrive; the facilities listed for this stop are picnic tables and toilets. Keep food, trash, coolers and cooking gear in a bear-proof container when you're not actively using them.
