Best time to go
“Faithful” doesn’t mean clockwork. The interval has lengthened since the 1870s, with notable increases after the 1959 Hebgen Lake, 1975 Norris and 1983 Borah Peak earthquakes. The length of one eruption helps explain the next wait: a longer burst releases more water and heat, so the geyser takes longer to recharge. Use the posted prediction rather than counting on a fixed interval.
