Guide
East Gate is the marked eastern entrance to Algonquin's Highway 60 corridor, at km 55.8 and about 5.4 km west of Whitney. A broad arch with a timber roof and tall stone supports spans the road; you pass directly beneath it on the way into the park.
The office is also Algonquin's administrative headquarters. It provides park information, fees and permits, first aid, flush toilets and an accessible facility. That makes it a useful practical stop if you need help or facilities before continuing through the corridor.
