It’s functional, friendly, and efficient—think clean washrooms, a small park store, and a distinctive Peace and Reconciliation Totem Pole to greet you.

If you forgot something, Whitney has gas, a grocery, a couple of restaurants, an outfitter/gift shop, bulk firewood, and a range of accommodations—handy backups before you head deeper along Highway 60.

Make it a Stop, Not a Destination

Most people spend about 10–15 minutes here: use the washroom, ask quick questions, and then get moving. Just inside the gate you can pair your day with the Algonquin Logging Museum, or continue to popular corridor trails for views and geology in action.

Wildlife Note

Along the Highway 60 corridor, moose are possible at dawn and dusk near wetlands, with beaver, loons, and a spread of songbirds also common. Keep your distance, drive slowly, and never feed wildlife.
