Kitty Lake Ranger Cabin is a one-room log cabin in Algonquin's backcountry, rented for overnight stays. It is a trip goal for paddlers, not a roadside stop or a drop-in historic interior. Canoe access is the only way in, from Shall Lake Access Point #17; the park estimates about an hour on the water. Despite its name, the cabin is on Farm Lake; use the Canoe Routes Map to plan the landing.

Built in 1935, this is one of the park's larger rustic ranger cabins. It sleeps up to eight on bunks, but there are no mattresses, running water, indoor bathroom or electricity. There is an enclosed outdoor toilet, a wood stove, and a table and chairs; bring food, drinking water, bedding, a light, and your own cooking gear. You need a reservation, and pets are not allowed.

The cabin was built with salvaged material from nearby Booth Depot Farm and the Booth “End of Steel” lumber camp. The area was once a hub of early park work: the historical record places a logging railway, a fire tower and hose-drying tower, a towerman's cabin, river fire-equipment storage, and spring log-drive improvements within a mile. That history gives a night here a story beyond the quiet lake setting.
