Before you go

Sort out permits and supplies

If you’re camping, arrange your backcountry permit online or by phone before the drive in. Check park advisories for water levels before setting out. Food and potable water aren’t confirmed here, and the availability of a small store is unclear, so bring what you need instead of counting on supplies at the launch. The toilet type and office hours aren’t specified.

Shall Lake Access Point (#17) is a canoe launch on a bend of the Opeongo River, between Farm and Crotch lakes. Despite its name, the launch is not on Shall Lake. This is a backcountry starting point, not a day-use stop for a trail or overlook; the trip on the water is the reason to come. From here, paddlers head toward Farm and Crotch, with Booth Lake to the west and Ryan Lake to the east.
