This is the planning hub for the Lake Louise area—right in Samson Mall at 201 Village Road. Beyond brochures, you’ll find thoughtful exhibits about the local geology and wildlife, current trail and road conditions, and staff who can help you sort out permits, passes, and a realistic plan for Lake Louise and Moraine Lake.
Lake Louise and Moraine Lake logistics can be tricky—parking at the lakes fills very early, and shuttles are often essential. Staff here will save you time and frustration with current advice on shuttles, closures, bear activity, and which hikes actually fit the day’s conditions. Being in Samson Mall also means easy access to nearby food, a small grocery, ATM, and other village services.
You won’t see much wildlife at the Centre itself, but this is the place to ask about current bear activity, seasonal closures, and best practices before heading onto area trails.
For quick help, come right at opening or after 4 pm. Midday (noon–2 pm) is the busiest and often means waiting in line. Weekdays are calmer than weekends. Plan up to 45 minutes for a typical stop—longer if you’re sorting backcountry reservations or complex plans.
