A quick rim stop with big views, Rattlesnake Canyon Overlook lets you look straight into rugged desert canyons carved into the park’s Permian-age reef country. If you’ve only seen the underground side of the park, this is the aboveground counterpoint—wide horizons, layered limestone, and classic Chihuahuan Desert scenery.

The overlook sits off the park’s surface road network, with area access via the unpaved Walnut Canyon Desert Drive.
