The exhibits follow rural and outport life, including the work and lives of local women. You’ll find stone tools dated to about 4,000 years ago, a walrus skull around 700 years old, and hooked mats. One especially striking story centers on an axe and court-transcript copies connected with Cow Head’s 1809 double-axe murder. Guided tours connect the objects to local stories, including women’s history and the murder case. That makes this more than a room of old things: you get a sense of who lived here and what shaped the community.
