• Picnic tables and grills in a leafy, creekside setting.
• Multiple restroom buildings in the campground a short walk away; note that the shower facility is code‑access and for registered campers only.
• Paved, one‑way roads and sidewalks throughout the developed campground area.

Creek Time and Vibes

Gulpha Creek is shallow and inviting—great for wading and cooling off on warm days. Expect plenty of shade and the sound of water, plus frequent birds flitting through the trees. It’s a popular, family‑friendly scene, especially on weekends.

Trails Right From Your Table

A trailhead inside the campground links up to Hot Springs Mountain and even down toward Bathhouse Row. It’s easy to turn lunch into a leg‑stretcher before or after you eat.

Rules and Need‑to‑Know

• This is an approved day‑use picnicking area. Picnicking is not allowed on the lawns of Bathhouse Row, at the park’s main entrance plaza, or around the Park Administration Building.
• Restrooms in the campground serve day users, but showers are for registered campers only.
• The campground runs close to a scenic drive; expect some traffic and general bustle on busy days.

Best Time to Visit

Weekdays or early mornings are the calmest. Weekends and holidays fill fast year‑round (the campground stays busy even in fall and winter), so arrive on the early side if you want a creek‑adjacent table. Mid‑to‑late afternoon light slips nicely through the trees for mellow photos.
