A true Hot Springs icon since 1924, the Arlington is Arkansas’s largest hotel and the grande dame of Central Avenue. Think soaring lobby, the Crystal Ballroom, and the Venetian Dining Room—classic spaces built for bathers and vacationers. It’s directly across from Bathhouse Row and steps from Arlington Lawn, where the hot-water cascade and pale tufa formations give a glimpse of the geology beneath your feet.

Famous names have passed through these doors—presidents, entertainers, sports legends, and even Al Capone—and the hotel still pipes thermal mineral water for bathing. The property is currently undergoing restoration to recapture its 1920s exterior and modernize systems, but it remains open.

What to Expect

Public areas hold much of the allure: the grand lobby, the Lobby Bar’s atmosphere, and weekend entertainment. Rooms are a mixed bag. Recent guests frequently cite dated furnishings, peeling paint or stained carpets in places, variable water pressure, occasional smells or leaks, and noise from street activity or near elevators. Wi‑Fi tends to be more reliable around common areas. If your priority is polished, modern rooms, compare options; if you’re here for history and location, the Arlington still delivers on setting.

Parking is limited/paid, and the garage or valet staging is about a block away—plan for that on arrival. Pet-friendly rooms, EV charging, twin outdoor pools, and a year‑round hot tub round out the amenities.

Spa & Bathing

The Thermal Water Spa on the 3rd floor pumps hot spring water directly into the hotel. Appointments are required. Age guidelines: baths 10+, massages 18+. Expect a small mineral-water fee added to services. Typical hours run daily with shorter weekday windows; for example, Sun/Mon/Thu often 8am–2pm, Fri–Sat extended hours with baths-only windows, and Tue–Wed shorter days.

Dining & Drinks

The Venetian Dining Room has long been known for classic hotel dining (including a celebrated Sunday brunch and periodic themed buffets), while the award‑winning Lobby Bar is the social hub most evenings. There’s also a coffee shop, plus a salon and on‑site shopping.

Right Outside the Door

Walk Arlington Lawn to see the hot-water cascade and tufa deposits, then wander Bathhouse Row’s historic facades. For a nature reset, the park’s trail network in the surrounding Ouachita (Zig‑Zag) Mountains offers chances to spot white‑tailed deer and songbirds along ridge walks and overlooks.
