A remote, fly-in lodge on the Kulik River, this is Katmai’s classic all‑inclusive fishing base—think small guest capacity, jet boats on the home river, and floatplanes whisking you to nearby Katmai/Bristol Bay streams when weather allows. Best time to visit

The season runs roughly June–September. Late July into September is a sweet spot for sockeye‑driven trout fishing, with many anglers favoring late August for rainbow and silver salmon combos. Earlier weeks fish differently but can be excellent. Capacity is small and peak weeks sell out.

Lodging and Amenities

Cabins are simple, warm, and functional—1–2 bedrooms with 2–4 beds, heat, electricity, Wi‑Fi, and private ensuite bathrooms with showers. The main lodge hosts family‑style meals and a convivial bar with complimentary evening cocktails. Off‑the‑water comforts include a sauna and an outdoor hot tub looking toward Nonvianuk Lake.

Packages commonly include round‑trip air via Katmai Air from Anchorage (about an hour), lodging, meals, boat and guide time on the Kulik River, and loaner gear. Fly‑outs are optional and typically an extra daily cost.

On clear days, guides arrange fly‑outs to a range of rivers and lakes within roughly a 100‑mile radius to target seasonally available species—trophy rainbows, all five Pacific salmon (strong late‑season silvers), Arctic char/Dolly Varden, grayling, pike, and lake trout. Expect early departures, some hiking from drop lakes, and long, full days on the water.

Guides are patient teachers for newcomers and keep things moving for veterans. You can fish fly or conventional tackle (note that some waters are fly‑fishing only). Loaner waders/boots and rods are on hand, so you can pack light. Resident species are catch‑and‑release; limited salmon may be kept and can be processed for travel.
