Reach it from Malelane Gate via S25, then branch onto S119; allow extra time for gravel.
There are no toilets—use Berg-en-Dal, Afsaal, or Malelane before/after.

If the pan is dry, don’t linger—work the S119 and adjoining loops for predators.
Pair the hide with a southern loop (S118/S119/S121) for a varied half-day route.

Anecdotal trip reports from the surrounding S119 area include multiple lion prides, and visitors have noted rhino, elephants, hyena tracks, and even a crocodile on an impala. As with most hides here, predators are possible but never guaranteed—time in the seat is your edge.
This is a rustic, day-use hide: no shop, no water, and no ablutions. Park policy is that hides don’t have toilets; plan your stops at Berg-en-Dal Rest Camp, Malelane Gate, or Afsaal Picnic Site. Bring water, snacks, and tissues, and be ready to sit quietly. If the waterhole is dry (which does happen), consider moving along the S119 where big game is often seen.
