Why It’s Special

The Selati line opened across what became Kruger in the early 1900s. In the 1920s, the famous “Round in Nine” tours stopped here; trains even overnighted on the nearby Sabie Bridge so guests could spot game by day—an early spark for Kruger tourism. Regular trains ceased in 1973; after an era of dining cars (ended by a 1995 fire), today’s Kruger Station revives that heritage right next to the contemporary train‑on‑a‑bridge hotel.

Wildlife & Nearby Stops

This isn’t a wildlife‑view restaurant—save the sightings for nearby gems. Lake Panic Bird Hide (about 7 km) is superb in the cool morning and late afternoon.
