Set on Skukuza’s historic Selati railway line, Kruger Station is a polished dining-and-play hub that leans into the park’s rail heritage. Expect platform seating, railcar ambience, and the star of the scene: a preserved Class 24 locomotive (No. 3638). It’s an easy, family-friendly stop between game drives—more about good food and history than river views.

The Selati line opened across what became Kruger in the early 1900s. In the 1920s, the famous “Round in Nine” tours stopped here; trains even overnighted on the nearby Sabie Bridge so guests could spot game by day—an early spark for Kruger tourism. Regular trains ceased in 1973; after an era of dining cars (ended by a 1995 fire), today’s Kruger Station revives that heritage right next to the contemporary train‑on‑a‑bridge hotel.
