At Punda Maria there isn’t a separate visitor center building—the Reception doubles as the information hub. This is where you’ll get on-the-ground advice, book guided activities, and pick up the latest on road conditions. It’s a low‑key, practical stop that’s especially handy in the quieter, northern reaches of the park.

• Reception information desk for activity bookings, road updates, and general guidance.
• Practical extras close by: a small shop, a modest cafeteria/restaurant, a mini ATM in the restaurant, fuel station, laundromat, public phone, post box, and basic first aid at Reception.
• No Wi‑Fi; cell coverage exists but can be patchy at times—plan accordingly.

Staff can steer you toward what’s been active lately and how to time your drives. Birders love the area’s tropical feel—ask about recent sightings on the Mahonie Loop, Nyala Drive, and day trips up to Pafuri and Crooks’ Corner.

Day Visitors Note

Day visitors should use the designated picnic area near Punda Maria Gate for facilities rather than relying on the rest camp’s internal ablutions. It’s close to the gate and set up for quick stops.

• The swimming pool has been under major renovation—check current status if that matters to your plans.
• Fuel is available in camp; the nearest gate is Punda Maria Gate a short drive away.
